ATTEMPTED BAG-SNATCHING
AUCKLAND WOMAN ATTACKED.
RUFFIANS ESCAPE IN DARKNESS
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, June 6.
A woman was attacked in a suburban road last night by two men who attempted to snatch her bag. She resisted and screamed and neighbours ran to her rescue. The men escaped. It is believed that they mistook the wo'man for the wife of a local theatre lessee, who about that time was usually going home with the night’s takings. At Devonport a man woke this morning to find he had been robbed of £-10 which had been in his trousers pocket at the head of his bed not six inches from his face.
