ACTIVITY OF GEYSER
POHUTU REAWAKENS. SOME STRIKING DISPLAYS. Rotorua, April 28.. Renewed activity is being shown by PohutU Geyser at Wliukarewarewa, which was responsible for sonie fine displays just before Easter, but had since tech. ddfiuitiit. The geyser became .animated late oh Sunday, but was fairly quiet yesterday? Last bight it broke out again and “shots” were seen about oneb every hour. Throughout to-day the bursts were more frequerit aiid they ttise tb a height of between 60 feet and 100 feet. The display's, which lasted for about 20 ihiiiiites, were among the most striking seen for several years. The Prince of V, ales feathers was also hXive to-day and displays rising to 10 feet or 12 feet preceded Pohutu's bursts.
