GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. A meeting of the library members and committee was held on Monday night, when the past year’s work was reviewed. A large number of new books have been purchased and distributed. A regular supply of new volumes will continue and so add further interest to the institution. / The work of the secretary and librarian was eulogised by all present. Th© following officials were elected: Secretary, Mrs. Evans (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs. J. Duff; auditor, Mrs. Benton. A substantial balance is in hand for the purchase of the best literature. Arrangements were made for a euqhre and dance to-morrow night. Presentations will be made of prizes won at the recent combined show. An Indian evening will be held on May 8. The proceeds are to be devoted to the Auroa Pipe Band uniform fund. Miss Hickland, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mies Eileen O’Dea, Auroa Road. Miss Johnstone, who has been visiting relatives, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Johnstone, has returned to Wanganui. Miss Nellie Lyndon, who is still an inmate of the Kaponga hospital, is improving in health.
