DAIRY PRODUCE MARKETS. RETAIL PRICES UNCHANGED. The London butter market was quiet at the end of last week, with, prices of New Zealand salted 3s to 4e better on the week. Retail prices are unchanged, New Zealand at Is 2d and Danish at Is 3d a lb. The market for New Zealand cheese is steady at the low prices ruling, Canadian being reported as in slow demand at a premium of 22s a cwt. ou New Zealand. Deliveries and Stocks. The Empire Marketing Board’s estimate of the stocks of all butter held at April IS is 298,404 boxes, as compared with 727,510 boxes a year- ago. Deliveries of New Zealand butter for the week were 1693 tons, as against 950 tons a year ago. The quantity in store is 4750 tons, as compared with 9050 tons a year ago. The quantity of Australian butter in store is 1200 tons, as compared with 3012 tons a year ago. ’ Deliveries of New Zealand cheese for the week were 22,876 crates, as against 19,750 crates a year ago. The quantity in store is 157,700 crates, as compared with 117,771 crates a year ago. The quantity of Canadian cheese in store is 141,102 boxes, as compared with 102,988 boxes a year ago.

FROZEN MEAT IN LONDON. WETHER MUTTON IMPROVED. The lamb market remains steady with no change in prices. Consumption continues good. Mutton market: Wethers meeting slightly better demand. Ewes market 5 is piiet and slightly weaker for light-weights. Beef market: Better prices for Argentine chilled beef, but frozen beef neglected. New Zealand pigs: Slightly firmer, but consumption decreasing. New Zealand baconer pigs: A little better inquiry. TALLOW AND HEMP. LONDON MARKETS DULL. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated April 25, from th© High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—No auction this week. Market continues quiet for shipment and practically nothing offering here. Spot quotations nominally unchanged. 1 Hemp. —Manila market easier and moderate business has been done. Steadier at the close, “K” grade for MarchMay shipment being sold at £l7 10s, and April-June shipment £l7 15s. Sisal: Market easier. Closing quotations were: No. 1, good markets for April/June shipment, £l6 15s to £l7; fair average quality, £l6 10s. New Zealand: Market dull. Small business early this week in fair for April/May shipment at £lB 10s, and rejected at £l6.
