Collett and Co. advise that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line vessel Port Hunter, which is at Wellington, will discharge New Plymouth cargo at Wellington for transhipment to New Plymouth. The vessel will commence loading at Wanganui and is due at New Plymouth on May 7. From New Plymouth the vessel will proceed to Picton, Lyttelton and Wellington. Newton King Ltd. advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion vessel Pakeha, which is en route to New Zealand in ballast, will load for west coast of England ports at New Plymouth on May 7« OPIHI TO DISCHARGE. The Union Company’s Opihi, which arrived at Lyttelton last Thursday morning from Timaru on fire, arrived at Wellington on Friday and left again the same day for Nelson and New Plymouth, to discharge her damaged cargo. She is due at New Plymouth at 6 o’clock this morning and at Wellington to-morrow, and will leave for Dunedin, where she will load via ports for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. MIDDLESEX COMPLETING. * The Federal Line steamer Middlesex sailed from Auckland for Wellington on Saturday to complete loading for London, Avoiimouth; Liverpool and Glasgow. She is to leave Wellington for London on Thursday. The vessel left New Plymouth on ’ April 13, carrying 4115 crates of cheese, 5270 boxes of butter and general cargo, including wool, pelts, casein and tallow from Taranaki.

NORTHUMBERLAND IN BALLAST. The Federal Line steamer Northumberland is reported to have left Glasgow for New Zealand in ballast last Thursday. The vessel is coming to New Zealand to load for England. WAIKAWA TO BE LAID UP. Now completing discharge of Pacific Coast cargo at Sydney, the Union Company’s steamer Waikawa is to come to Auckland to be laid tip owing to the slackness of trade. NEW TOURIST SERVICE. Inaugurating the new exclusive tourist service which the P. and O. Company is pioneering, the Royal Mail steamer Mongolia left London for Australia on April 17. Although it is the off season for travel the Mongolia embarked a good complement of passengers, thus affording a happy augury for success of the new service. Good accommodation is provided by the Mongolia at low tourist prices. The vessel is equipped with extensive decks and public rooms, comprising dining saloon, lounge; verandah cafe, smoking, reading and card rooms. Inquiries and forward bookings justify the confidence felt that P. and O. Company is supplying facilities of the type required particularly for Australians and New Zealanders in view of the present financial difficulties. Walter Lindrum and.
