KAILWAY TEAM DEFEATED. By 14 sets to 10 a Tariki team defeated the New Plymouth Railway Settlement Club’s team in a tennis match at the Tariki courts during the weekend. Results are, Tariki players being mentioned first:— Mens Singles. —Therkleson beat Pil 6—3; L. Loveridge beat Mitchell, 0—1; Williams beat Gardner, 6—5; Clough lost to Macfarlane, 5 —6; Mail beat Sims, 6—4; Crowe beat Wright, 6—2.
Ladies’ Singles. —Miss L. Hucker beat Miss Macfarlane, 6—2; Miss R. Hucker beat Mrs. Sims, 6—2; Miss I. Loveridge beat Miss Manning, 6— L; Mrs. B. Loveridge beat Mrs. Roper, 6—3; Miss Young lost to Miss Jones," 4—6; Miss McCullum lost to Miss Macfarlane, 5 —6. Ladies’ Doubles. —Miss L. Hucker and Miss I.
