The Bureau of Internal Revenue announced to-day that there was a diminution of seven from 1928. In 1929, 8650 persons had incomes of £lO,OOO or more aggregating £1,190,400,000. Preliminary stock market losses reported; on the returns totalled £132,200,000, of which persons with incomes of less than £lOOO showed £8,600,000 losses in speculative activities, indicating the extent of speculation in Wall Street at the time of the crash.
