Mr. W. R. Johns has been • appointed the Government representative on tile Waitara Fire Board in place of Mr. T. Taylor, who has resigned. A Christchurch message, reports the death of Mr. Andrew Janies Benzie, aged 52, president of the Canterbury. Commercial Travellers’ Association and expresident of the Dominion Bowling Council.
Guests at the New Plymouth Rotary Cub luncheon yesterday were Major Loder (England), Dr. J. M. Clarke, Dr. H. P. Gray (New Plymouth), Messrs. E. H. Ferguson (New Plymouth), Driller (Wellington), and A. Mill.
