CHAMPIONSHIP. ARRANGEMENTS.
A meeting of the 'i’aranaki!Bowling Centre was°held at New Plymouth on Tuesday evening, there . being present Messrs. Petty. (chairman), Sampson, Amess, Smart, Lobb, Dingle . and. Renwick. ... . . . - An invitation, .was. received , from the Australian Bowling. Association for rinks to /. visit, ’Australia for a bowling carnival in Brisbane in August. Clubs have been circularised to submit names of those wishing to go.' A donation of £25 to the earthquake relief fund was approved. . The secretary submitted a draft bal-ance-sheet for the open ,tournament. The accounts showed a small', profit which was. considered. ’satisfactory.. The South Taranaki .Clubs’ application for permission to hold, a ripk ' tournament during Easter was granted subject to the approval of the Dominion' Bowling Coiuncil.
The proposed. visit of the Auckland Centre which was to have: taken- place next week has been', abandoned. It was left to the New Plymouth ‘ members of the executive’to arrange the itinerary of the South Auckland Centre visit in the middle of March. ■ .
The final of the champion of champions singles wijl be. - played on March 12 on the Hawera green. -Mr. Quinn was. appointed to control . the games, which are to be played on the two-life system and of 21 points, alb byes to be drawn for. Players taking part in divisional play-pffs are : to. ; pay. Is 6d for refreshments to be supplied by -the club on whose, greqn the 'games . are played. The, divisional- play-off will; be played , on- the' same.- principle - as; the final.- - - - ' - ~ ■■
