The late Mrs. H. B. Curtis, an old resident of Inglewood, who died recently at Tauranga, was an aunt of Mrs. Antoni Bpnetti, Hawera. Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Bonetti’s mother, Mrs. W. Pascoe, Hokitika, who were sisters, were the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. J. Larsen, Wortley Road, Inglewood. Mr. and Mrs. Bonetti attended the funeral at Inglewood oil Friday last. EARTHQUAKE RELIEF DANCE. The dance and eychre'party held in the Tangarakau public hull on Friday proved a most successful function both socially and . financially. Whittaker, H. Dent and A. Woodcock and extras were played by Mrs. A. Clow, Messrs. W. Evans and R. Joyes. Messrs. W. Opal and W. Campbell were masters.of ceremonies. Several novelty ' dapccs were features of the entertainment. They were won by Misses Jean Kilminster find Lin. Betts, Mrs. W. Evans and Mr. B. Hemsley, Miss J; Clow and Mr. J. Lines, Miss A. Peacock and McDonald.

Mr. W. Campbell presented the euchre prizes to Mrs. W. Opai (lydies’ first), Mr. R. Rae (men’s firpt) and consolation prizes to Mrs. J. Morgan and Mr. Claude Ingles. Two guessing competition? were won by Mrs. S. Sinclair and Miss Inez Moore.

Mr. Campbell made special mention of the good work of the ladies’ committee and thanked the ladies of the district for their donation of supper. The music was given gratis, as were the various prizes and'the use of the hall. He announced. the nett proceeds of the evening totalled £l7.
