REVISING LEAGUE COVENANT
HARMONY WITH PACT OF PARIS.

British Wireless. Rugby, Feb. 19. The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, stated in reply to a question in the House of that the Government had informed the SecretaryGeneral of the League of Nations that it continued to support whole-heartedly the principle involved in the proposal to bring the Covenant of tfie League into harmony with the Pact of Paris, and Waa ready to join with other members of the. League in accepting the amendments put forward- by tho first committee of the recent Assembly, subject to the proviso that ratification of these amendments on behalf-of the United Kingdom would be made dependent oil the entry into force of the general treaty for a reduction arid limitation of armaments. _ Mr. Henderson recalled the Imperial Conference’s conclusions bn the general position of other members of the British Commonwealth of Nations and said their , Governments would doubtless address'. the Secretary-General of the League in similar sense.
