Mrs. G. Cooper was hostess at a very enjoyable afternoon on Thursday. The drawing-room was decorated with bowls of scarlet flowers and Mokau flax. The Misses L. and W. Carman left on Monday' mbrhing for Wellington ep route to the Bluff. From there they will travel by the ' Maheiio to Melbourne, where they intend spending about eight weeks.
