HATATTAI RECREATION GROUND.—This will be one of Wellington’s twenty recreation areas when completed. The lumps are not haycocks, but gathered top soil. Between the knoll and the houses is an area already filled by spoil from the tunnel, ending in a steep high bank. The knoll will be tipped over the bank to fill a large area between the bank and the street fronting the houses. An area of nine acres will be acquired by this work, being carried on under the No. 5 scheme.
