A. & P. SHOW AT NEW PLYMOUTH.
SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED.
Judged by the entries received by the secretary, Mr. W. P. Okey, up to-clos-ing time last night the A. and P. show to be held at New Plymouth on March 4 and 5 promises to be up to the high standard set by its predecessors. It would not perhaps be asserting too much to say that it will prove even better, for entries in some sections are already stronger than has been the case for some years and this morning’s mail will contain more. Dairy cattle are the strong feature, Jerseys being representative of the whole of the province as well as outside herds. In Ayrshires and Friesians some new breeders are competing. In the horse section some of the leading South Taranaki breeders are competing in the heavy classes, while all the light classes as usual have filled well. Pigs and sheep have .also drawn splendid competition. There will, of course, be the usual exhibits of machinery, implements and motor-cars, whilst applications for space for sideshows are very numerous. The special feature introduced this year, the dog trial, has attracted quite a number of | the leading performers of the province.
