TARANAKI CHAMPIONS HAWERA WINS THE BANNER FIVE RECORDS BROKEN WELL CONTESTED EVENTS Fast times were recorded at the Taranaki. swimming championships -which took place in the New Plymouth municipal baths last night. The water was warm and conditions were ideal for fast competitive swimming. , Five records were broken. There was a .large attendance of spectators from all parts of Taranaki. On the door takings it was estimated that the attendance was 460. Eight clubs entered teams, but Hawera made by far the best showing, winning the new inter-club banner with a total of -SO points.
