NORTH TARANAKI COUNTRY WAREA DEFEATS PUNGAREHU. FOURTEEN SETS AGAINST TEN. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Warea Tennis Club played a return match with Pungarehu on. Saturday. Owing to one of the Pungarehu courts bein’ under repairs the match was played’on the Warea courts, and the Pungarehu ladies provided afternoon tea. Beautiful sunshine again favoured the players, and some keen games were witnessed, resulting in the final scores of 14 sets to 10 in favour of Warea. In a keenly contested match played on the Urenui courts during last weekend’ the Uruti Club were'successful in winning the play-off in the final .of the southern division, in the Tongaporutu Uup competitions. The Urenui team showed better combination in the combined, doubles, . winning three matches out. of four. Uruti, however, proved superior, in the. .singlee, and won the . match by 11 sets and 129 games to 8 sets and 119 games.
