BOWLING AT ROTORUA
OTAHUHU MAN WINS FINAL.

The bowling tournament here was won by Gardiner (Otahuhu) after a good game in the finals with Ritchie (Carlton). Showers and wind spoiled the last few heads. Ritchie took the lead and was s—l at the sixth head, but failed to keep the pace and went down 20—11. Ritchie fought desperately all through but was outclassed. Section winners were: —A, Pakes (Rotorua); 8,. Whittle (Grey Lynn); C, Ritchie. In the eliminating round Rakes beat Maxwell Walker (Auckland) 20—12. In the semi-final Gardiner beat Whittle 20—12, and Ritchie beat Rakes 22—16.
