The Union Company advises that the Federal vessel Cambridge, with a cargo of slag loaded at Antwerp, left Auckland on Thursday for New Plymouth, where she is due at about 9 o’clock this morning. After discharge . the vessel will commence loading 30,000 freight oarcases of meat, 2500 boxes of butter and 4000 crates of cheese. Her other loading ports are Wellington, Gisborne and Auckland. The vessel is scheduled to return to Auckland on February 27 to complete loading and she is to be dispatched for London on March 5. RUAPEHU THIS MORNING. Advice has been received that the Ruapehu, which left Port Chalmers at 1.15 p.m. on Thursday for New Plymouth, is due at 7 a.m. to-day to complete discharge of her English cargo and to load 24,000 freight carcases of meat and 5000 crates of cheese. Gardiner; surgeon, Dr. J. S. Meighan; chief steward, Mr. E, P. Coleman. MIRRABOOKA AT AUCKLAND. The Swedish motor-ship Mirrabooka arrived, at. Auckland yesterday from Los Angeles yesterday morning. She will unload cargo from Pacific Coast ports. The vessel, which is running under the auspices of the General Steamship Corporation, will unload cargo at Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. NORTHUMBERLAND DELAYED. The Federal Company advises that the Northumberland was forced to put to sea. off Wanganui on Thursday and is now due at Wellington to-morrow to complete her Homeward loading. The vessel has cargo from New Plymouth. TAIROA AT AUCKLAND. The Shaw, Savill Company’s vessel Tairoa, en route from Antwerp, reported. that she expected to reach Auckland yesterday afternoon. She brings- a cargo of basic slag for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth. ' PORT HUNTER CANCELLED. ’ Collett and Co. advise that the sailing of the Port Hunter, which was scheduled to leave London on March 11 for Auckland, Wellington and. New Plymouth, has been cancelled. MELBOURNE-DOMINION SERVICE. MAHENO TAKEN' OFF ROUTE. .Wellington, February 13. The Union Company advises that owing to the abnormal slackness of trade between New Zealand and Australia it will’ba necessary to discontinue the running of the Maheno in the Melbourne to New Zealand'' service in the middle of next month. It is hoped, that conditions in the inter-colonial trade will have improved sufficiently to permit the resumption of the Maheno towards the end of the year in order to cater for the requirements of tourist traffic during the summer. In the meantime a regular cargo service between Melbourne-' and New Zealand ports, as at present, will be maintained from the end of March by a cargo steamer at threeweekly intervals. Owing to slackness in the Sydney service the Maunganui will be withdrawn at the same time as the Maheno, which withdraws on her return from Melbourne on the March 5 fixture from that port. The Maunganui will be withdrawn after arrival at Auckland on leaving Sydney on March 12. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
