Burmese rebels, who as a result of military and police activity have split into small bands, are terrorising villages in the Tharrawaddy district and villagers known to be friendly towards the Government are being murdered. Crown forces encountered a party of 200 rebels and killed eleven, the remainder fleeing. Messrs. Findlay’s big timber camp near Tharrwaddy was burned by rebels. Two Britons in charge made a timely escape.
