It was stated by Canon Neild to-day that Te Alite College bad informed the general synod of the Anglican Chtirefi that £lOO,OOO would hot suffice to make good the damage caused by the earthquake. The Waiapu Diocese syn&l subsequently authorised tlie trustefe? of the general church triist to make a grant of up to £5OO for the repair and restoration of the see house of the \\ aiapii diocese.
