BRITISH INQUIRY NOT FAVOURED.
QUESTION ASKED IN COMMONS.
British Wireless. Rugby, Feb. 11. Asked in the House of Commons whether he would appoint a small committee to take evidence of certain persons lately in Russia regarding Labour cond’.t’ons in the Russian timber trade, Mr. Arthur Henderson, the Foreign Secretary, said he feared that without the provision of any facilities on the part of the Soviet Government no inquiry would be satisfactory or efffec live, and, therefore, nothing would be achieved by such a committee,, but he would continue to watch the situation closely in case he found any reason to modify Jhis view.
