The athletes chosen to represent the Wellington province at the national athletic championship meeting at Dunedin later in the month were announced, by the sole selector, Mr.-A. C. Kitto, dent of the Wellington centre of the N.Z.A.A.A., at a meeting of the centre this afternoon. The list is smaller than usual. It is as follows:— \ 100 yards and 220 yards.—C. Jenkins (Wellington). ... j 100 yards senior, 100 yard? junior and relay.—F. H. Stephenson (Victoria University College). " ’ _ , . 440 yards.—J. Fleming or T. Pickering. 880 yards and one mile.—H. McDonald (Manawatu). One mile.—G. Bayne (Petone); One mile and three miles.—G. C. Prosser (Brooklyn Harriers). One mile and three mile walks. — A. K. Hill (Olympic). High jump and pole vault. —F. Bradey (Wellington). Throwing the hammer.—W. Harvey
(Wairarapa). . Putting the shot, throwing javelin and discus. —P. Munro (Wellington). No hurdlers have been selected, and the decision between Fleming and Pickering as the'quarter-mile representative will be made after the pair have met in a scratch 440 yards event at Petone on Monday. • Mr. C. T. Harrison has added M. Gane (Wellington) and T. Roe (Petone) to the team as the provincial cycling representatives.
