’■ TARANAKI ACCEPTANCES ; TIfiLDS FOR AUTUMN MEETING. Following are the acceptances for the first day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s meeting on Thursday, February 12: —■ WAITARA HURDLES. | One and a half miles and 100 yards.

EGMONT ACCEPTANCES TO-DAY. •! 1 ’ ' - Following are the acceptances for the second day of the Egmont Racing Club (to-day.)':— OKAIAWA HURDLES.

TO-DAY’S FIELDS REVIEWED. SIDELIGHTS ON RECENT FORM. (By “Moturoa.’?) It looked as if FULL MARK won the first day with something in hand, and in the Okaiawa Hurdles he may have too much pace for. Goblin Market and Democratic. ' Chief Link, does not seem: to be up to good sprinting class, but ho goes well in juvenile races. Gibraltar ;is starting in place of Easter Time; but the fact that OPEN CHEQUE was unlucky on Thursday may send him out a good favourite for the Electric Handicap. Silver Rule will be suited by the shorter distance in the Meremere Handicap and should go well. Chief Savage has gone up 'only a pound, and he may be-the one to give most .trouble to ORAPAI. who is back to his best form. Silvermine is well treated in the Tonks . Stakes, but he ran very badly in the Egmont Cup. Vertigern ran a good race on Thursday, but First Acre and High Faintin’ ran badly. The Swell has a chance, and so has Melissa, who will be better; suited by the. longer distance. Chopin, who won this race last year, looks to have fine prospects on his good form in the’ Cup, and the favourites may be CHOPIN, Silvermine and Melissa.

IBIS ran a good second to Winacre at Foxton and should be a hot-favourite in the Trial Handicap. Nimble goes fast, and Bon Eve and Goldzone are not without chances. : However, Nimble should be the'-ope to give most trouble to the topweight.; - Tcnacre is .back to flat racing again and" will have, plenty of friends in the Normanby .Handicap. Belle Star will have to improve on Thursday’s form, and so will Bonogne. Calamine and Ka-

whakina will both have plenty of support, and the trio that make most appeal are KAIVHAKINA, Bonogne and Calamine. ■ A rise of 101 b. should not . trouble BAYACRE in the Waimate Handicap, and, if he gets away well/ he should have no difficulty in again beating Tenterden and Ridgemount. SALTPOT showed himself to be a good sort by the manner in which he won on Thursday, and in the Iriaba Handicap he looks a much better proposition than Statuary and Tobaccoland.
