ARRANGEMENTS QF EXECUTIVE.

Arrangements for the aero pageant at New Plymouth on February 28 were made at a meeting of the New Plymouth Aero Club last night. Those present. were Ale®srs, G. Al. Spence (chairman), A. J. An Inquiry ■regarflijig th.e ; ac.eiddhi to Z.K.A.A.X. is to be held on Mondaybefore a Board'of inquiry. , ? - It was stated ’that- Special arrangement® had* been 'made with Lieutenant Quiller, the noted parachutist, to make on the day of the pageant special parachute descents from a plane, landing ou the aerodrome. He is to jump 500 feat to enable the public to see the uninterrupted drop before his parachute opens. He is then to demonstrate on the ground how his parachute is folded, packed and strapped to him. Later in the afternoon he is to jump from the aeroplane at a height of several thousand feet.

A programme including, a formation flight over the town to advise the public the pageant is.on, landing edmpeii-. tioii® for A and B pilots and bombing the target competition® has been arranged. At least 20 machines are expected and a grand parade has been arranged in which ail the aeroplanes will taxi round the drome and then all take off. Other events arranged for the programme include a balloon bursting 'competition in which the planes are-to chase Tight balloons that are released and a Taranaki Aerial Derby for which Air. and Mrs. T. Jones have presented a cup. Another formation 'fllght will" be field over the town at 12.30. For the afternoon a programme was arranged including a show aeroplane race, a height demonstration, a special exhibition of stunting and crazy. flying, an all-trans-port race, an aerobatic contest and bombing the car. The Taranaki county is to be asked to stop parking in the immediate vicinity or the aerodrome and to control traffic on the roads on the day of the pageant. The borough council is to be asked to authorise Inspector Day to marshal the cars on the aerodrome.

Special catering arrangements are being made fob meals'at the. ground. Arrangements are being made for loud speaker® to cover the whole of the ground. The club passed a vote of thanks' to Mr. and Aire. Jones for their donation of a cup for the aerial derby.
