The Union Company advises that its vessel Kiwitea is due at New Plymouth from Portland about Sunday afternoon to discharge 506 tons of Australian cargo. From New Plymouth the vessel will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. RUAPEHU DISPATCHED. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Ruapehu was dispatched from Auckland on Wednesday morning for Dunedin and New Plymouth, where she will complete discharge of he z r cargo from London. SURREY AT AUCKLAND. The Federal Line steamer Surrey left New Plymouth on Wednesday afternoon for Auckland, where she was due last evening to continue loading for London and west coast ports of Great Britain. She will later go to Wellington and Bluff to complete her cargo. OTAIO DUE AT AUCKLAND. According to wireless advice, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motorship Otaio expected to reach Auckland at 5 o’clock last evening from Liverpool. The vessel left Liverpool on January 3 with cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. PORT FREMANTLE AT WELLINGTO The C. and D. Line motor-ship Port Fremantle arrived at Wellington yesterday from New Plymouth to continue her Homeward loading. She is to leave again on Saturday for Lyttelton, Gisborne and Auckland to fill up, and is scheduled to clear the northern port finally on February 21 for London, via the Panama Canal. ALEXANDER RUNS TRIALS. The Anchor Company’s coastal vessel Alexander, which has been on the patent slip at Wellington- for some months being converted from a steamer to a motor-ship, came round from ths slip on Wednesday morning and ran her trials. The Alexander, which is a twin-screw vessel, has been fitted with two Gardner J. type cold starting, compression ignition heavy oil engines of 200 horsepower.
