FRIESIAN AND JERSEY MILK.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I desire to correct some statements in a letter in your issue of January 27 by Mr. Henry Johnson. He says, “the Friesians produced 100 per cent, more butterfat per acre than the Jerseys.” Now, as Mr ; Johnson, or anyone else connected with the test, has no knowledge of the/ acreage I was using, how were the results arrived at? I should like to make it clear that the Jersey breeders were not represented at the test. They declined to have anything to do with it; I only supplied the milk. With regard to the statement that my action in purchasing a Friesian bull puts the “hall mark” on the test, T may say that the Tokaora test had nothing to. do with the purchase of the bull that our Black and White friend has made such a song about.—l am, etc., H. E. BATTEN.
