BRILLIANCE AT CHRISTCHURCH. \ HASTINGS PLAYER WINS TITLE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night- - In one of the finest ot croquet ever seen in the event Mrs. t. Watkins (Hastings) beat Mrs. M. Stallard (Christchurch) in the final of the New Zealand women’s singles championship. The scores were 0—25, 24 14, 26—18. , , The match was the sole remaining frame of the Dominion tourney and in spite of the inclement weather it attracted a large gallery to the United Club’s lawn "where for over five horns the players waged a brilliant battle or croquet as it should bo played.
