STRIKE RECOMMENDED
AUSTRALIAN WAGES CUT
UNION OFFICIALS’ DECISION
GOVERNMENT CONDEMNED

Rec. 1.25 a.m. Sydney, Jan. 28. A conference of secretaries of the Federal unions and the disputes committee of the Sydney Labour Council to-day decided to recommend the Australian Council of Trades Unions to declare a general strike throughout Australia as a protest against the recent reduction of wages by the Federal Arbitration Court.
Speakers condemned the Federal Government for inaction and “leaving the workers at the mercy of Nationalist-appointed judg.ee.”
The recommendation will come befon the Australian council to-morrow.
