SUDDEN FIRE ON LAUNCH
THE OCCUPANTS SWIM ASHORE.

Tile launch Princess, owned by Mr. P. Kinnimont, suddenly burst into (lames in Upper Harbour to-day. Its occupants, j/ Watkins and'G. Hcnderen, donned lifebelts and swam half a mile to the shore. The launch drifted ashore completely destroyed. It was valued at over £1990 pounds and was insured for £499. It was formerly^engaged in the Rotorua Lake trade and had accommodation for -54 passengers.
