MILD INFLUENZA
EPIDEMIC IN ENGLAND.
London, Jan.
An epidemic of influenza' is reported in Britain and countries in the western section of the Continent. ' Troops' and men on warships are affected.. •. . The outbreak, has reached epidemic point among troops at Aidershot. ' The majority of the cases are mild, but? hospital accommodation is taxed. An epidemic of mild influenza is also reported from Spain, where the postal and other services have been affected. The battle-cruisers Renown and Tiger have been placed in quarantine at Gibraltar owing to an outbreak of the? disease.
From Geneva it is reported that influenza, until this week, had not affected the death rate, blitin view of the sudden change in the .character of . the .epidemic tlm health section of, ths League is. coiierting special statistics.
