DEATH OF COUNTY RANGER
INQUEST HELD AT ORATO.
An inquest was: held at Okato last eve-ing before, Mr. J. S. Fox, J.P., acting coroner, ■ and a jury /comprising Messrs G. Roebuck (foreman), F. Brown, A. T. Hill and C. Lancaster, into the circumstances of the death of Frederick Williams, a resident of Okato and ranger to. the. Egmont County Council,: who was . found dead on the Leith Road near Okato on Tuesday afternoon,-apparently having been thrown from his< horse. Constable Clouston represented the police. After hearing the evidence of E. H. Gibson, P. A. Sim, .P. E. McCabe and Dr. P. C. Davie, medical- evidence being that death was caused by concussion, a verdict was returned that death was due to misadventure caused by a fall from a horse.
