CANADIAN CABLE MERGER
RAILWAY COMPANY’S INQUIRY.
ATTITUDE NOT YET ANNOUNCED.
By Telegraph— Press 4 Ottawa, Jan. 15. Examination by the technical officers of .the Canadian National Railways and consideration by the board of directors in,- consultation with the Canadian Government will precede any announcement by the. president. Sir Henry Thornton, on the attitude of that company toward amalgamation of the commercial telegraph systems of Canadian National and the Canadian Pacific.
Sir Henry admitted to-day that amalgamation was under consideration in connection with the proposed merging -of the Canadian wireless and cable Systems into a single system.
