STATE ACQUIRES OLD WHEAT
HELP FOR QUEENSLAND GROWERS
PRICE OF BREAD MAY RISE.

Rec. 8.50 p.m. Brisbane, Jan. 16. The Queensland Government has decided to acquire all the flour in that State with the object of saving the wheat-growers from ruin. Although this action is likely to cause flour and bread to rise in price the Premier, Mr. Moore, declares it is justified in the circumstances.
