THEFT OF JEWELLERY
ROBBERY FROM SYDNEY HOME. The house of Mr. John Sydney Bovill, at Point Piper, Sydney, -was entered, between September 3 and September 13 by thieves, who stole jewellery, and other -articles, . valued’ at ; £2400. 'inquiries were made by the police in New South Wales and a detective- from that State visited Melbourne,. but no trace of the thieves was found.- Early last , Wednesday morning three detectives j and a constable went to a hous'd at ' Caulfield and’ arrested a man. who was in bed. . I . The police searched the bedroom and | seized. a quantity of. property which they believe was stolen from Mr. Bovill’s house.
