SWIMMING CLUB’S DANCE. CHRISTMAS EVE FUNCTION. . The dance and euchre party at the Inglewood town hall on Thursday evening by the amateur swimming club was very successful, there being a large attendance, including visitors from many par,ts .of the province. Much credit is due to the committee and joint secre* tal'ies, Messrs. E, Crossman and J. Allemhn, to whose efforts the succes* of the evening was largely due. Over £2O was taken at the door, this being most satis 1 - factory considering the small amount charged for admission. The prize-win-ners at euchre were Airs. Bishell 1, Mrs ; J. Scott 2; Mr. E. Crossman 1, Air. 8. Ljnd&ay 2. .The two men redonated .their prizes, a. quarter of a ton of coal and 2olb of flour respectively. "The monthly meeting of the- Inglewood Chamber of Commerce wa-s held on Tuesday evening, when Mr. R. J. Frewin presided. Messrs. Crossman and Frewin were appointed delegates to collect for the Christmas carnival fund. It was decided to purchase extra sweets this year for distribution among the children on Christmas Eve. Messrs. W. J. Polson, M.P., the Mayor (Mr. J. W. Winfield) and the clergy of the town are to be asked to assist at the function at the band rotunda on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. The band is to be asked to give a recital in the town during the evening.
