FALSE PRETENCES ALLEGED
VALUELESS CHEQUE CHARGE. False pretences were alleged against Leslie Morgan Draper at New Plymouth on Saturday. He was charged before Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., with intent to defraud by obtaining £6 4s 6d from Edgar Meredith by means of a valueless cheque for that amount drawn on the Union Bank of Australia, Newton. On the application of Detective Kearney a remand was granted till December 29. The detective said other charges were pending.
