SUNDAY SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING.

CHRISTMAS TREAT SUCCESS.

On Saturday afternoon the Sunday school children of Holy Trinity parochial district held their Christmas treat in the church hall. A very large number of children including those from St. Luke’s, Bell Bloi?k> together with their', fathers and mothers filled' the hall to overflowing and enjoyed a delightful 'afternoon; The vicar (the Rev. W. S. C. Stephens): welcomed the parents and discussed at length the work of ? the year and tW alms and objects of the Sunday school.' Mr. Stephens called for an expression of gratitude to Mr. Childerstone, superintendent of Holy Trinity, Mrs. Cholmeley, superintendent of St. Luke’s Sunday school, the other teachers and Mrs. Chivers. The concert was then commenced. It displayed great ability in the direction of recitations, singing and dancing. The presentation followed and certificates by the vicar and the prizes by Mrs. Stephens and the general distribution of presents from the Christmas tree given by the Fitzroy Masonic Lodge. ' In response' to an appeal -by the vicar two married ladies have undertaken the charge of the kindergarten, and junior schools next year, which will assure further success in those departments. At the opening Mrs!. Stephens,; Mrs. Cholmeley and Mrs. Chivers were presented with beautiful bouquets by, three of the babies of the school.
