Resolutions in support of the fusion of the Reform and United Parties were unanimously passed at a committee meeting of the New Zealand Political Association.

It was agreed that on general principles no insurmountable difficulties existed between the'two parties, that the gravity of the existing economic conditions demanded a, stable government, and that in the interests of the country United and Reform should abandon their party differences and thereby conform with the generally expressed desire of tha public.
