Pahiatua, Dec. 19.

The Pahiatua County Council resolved that all wages and salaries, also councillors’ travelling expenses, should be reduced by 10 per cent., the matter to be reviewed .in three months.

It was also decided to dispense with the services of three employees who had other means of support. A motion was passed stating that the time had arrived for the Government to reduce all salaries and wages in all departments, also that the Arbitration Court should be abolished.
