She is the spirit of the natives, exercising her madcap mischief in her frenzy to free herself. The irresistible charmer of every •white man who visits the island’becomes an innocent victim of ajplot she herself creates’ and she is smuggled on an outgoing vessel by a young sea captain (Charles Bickford), who tricks her into marriage. Always cunning and never shying at adventure, the tempestuous maid from the tropics gives a crew of seamen and a seaside community a lifetime of worry, but also keeps them interested.
