PROSECUTION AT AUCKLAND.
Attraction at the beach.
(By Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. * “If we allowed miniature golf to be •fayed we would have hoop-la and evei y other thing being played on Sundays,” said Mr. F. K.’Huiit, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning when Ernest if. Henderson was charged with ■kpepinff op<jn course a.t Takaphna on Sunday. . In plfeliding guilty to tlio offence on behalf of the defendant Mr. Inder said there had been only one other conviction for this class of offence in New Zealand and that related to an indoor course. Henderson had the permission of the Takapuna Council to conduct the oaine as a clean and healthy attraction to the beach. The case was no different from the Citv Council charging for admission to the zoo on Sundays and the Wellington City Council taking payment for golf at Island Bay on*Sundays. Henderson was convicted and ordered to pay ccstp. *
