REDUCTION IN SALARIES
COt)K COUNTY COUNCIL ACTS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Dec. 18. The Cook County Council has decided that the following reductions in salaries and wages shall operate from February 1:, Up to £3OO, 10 per cent.; £3OO to £4OO, 12 per cent.; £4OO and over, 15 per cent.; horse hire., 20 per cent. The council also "decided to allow an extra month’s' grace before the enforcement of the penalty for overdue rates.
