NEWCASTLE RESIDENTS MEET APPOINTMENT OF SUB-AGENT. By Telegraph-Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 12.5 a.m. ' Newcastle, Dec. 18. A-hundred and fifty New Zealanders resident in the Newcastle area held their first reunion at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Auckland Street, to-night. The principal guests were Mr. Schmitt, Commissioner in Australia, and his wife. Mr. J. Hogan, an Auckland man, was elected president of a strqng executive. Mr. Schmitt announced the appointment of a New Zealand sub-agent at Newcastle to deal with tourist business. -He - expressed the hope, that .Mr. G. W. Forbes when returning from the Imperial Conference would be able to visit Newcastle to see the vast steel workshops and-other big industries. ■
