The appointment of Dr. H. V. Evatt, K.C., and Mr. E. A. McTiernan to the High Court bench of Australia is announced by cable from Canberra.
Mr. G. T. Wilson, of the railways head office staff, has been appointed assistant district traffic manager at Wellington, states a Press Association message.
Mr. and! Mrs. James Fletcher and Mr. J. S. Fletcher, Mr. J. M. Fletcher and Miss Ella Fletcher (Auckland), Mr. J. Martin (Christchurch), Mr. T. Buddle (Wellington), Mr. W. Wilson (Auckland), and Mr. -R. J. Manson (Palmerston North) are guests at tho Criterion, New Plymouth.
