PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.
CHRISTMAS TREE FOR JUNIORS.
The annual breaking-up ceremony and presentation of prizes of the Inglewood ptifelic 6chool was held at the school yesterday.. In the morning a Christmas tree was held for the junior pupils. There was a large attendance of parents. The Mayoress, Mrs. J. Winfield, . presented the gifts to the juniors. The school children ran a mart in connection with the ceremony. It was well patronised and by mid-day everything had been sold. - / ' . '..in tho afternoon Mr. J. W. Polson, M.P., accompanied by Mrs. Polson - presented the prizes to the senior pupils. Mr. R. Darlow, chairman of the school committee, stated he was sure the pupils , who did not win prizes would join with him in congratulating those who had.* As long as all the pupils felt they .had done their best at school work during the year they deserved as much oredit as any. He wished them all a happy six weeks holiday. . . Mr.. Polson said he joined with the chairman in his beet wishes for a happy t ; Christmas. It was during holidays, he eta. ted, that children/ were liable to get into mischief, but he hoped they would ail be at their best.' During holidays was perhaps the best time to keep up the school’s honour. He congratulated the prize-winners and presented the . ? prizes. •. \ ' ,i After the presentation. of prizes John Barrack on behalf of other standard 6 pupils made a presentation to Mr. Tayfor,, the toicher.
