Lyall) »•- ported that the average attendance for ;th». current term, up to December .14 WW 492.8. The pupils had been very successful in the art competition of the New Ze** land Children’s Newspaper. In ' this/ competition the second pnze was won. Eric Terrill. Special mention was madeef the work of D, Francis and . Agnes Abnrru? In the caricature competition the' prize was won, by Eric Terrill and the! ond pnze by Doris Francis. - ; On behqjf<pf the. committee the chain' man' asked the headmaster to. convey/to/ Mr. Davey (teacher of Form II.) and/tS®; children concerned, the committee’s gratulations,. It was resolved that a grant of £5 ;b* made to Miss Andrews (infant mistrej*!/ for the' purchase. of gifts for the primer classes. A letter of thanks will.be sent t#. Mrs. Sqwerbutts. for her donation to , tj»t school funds. \ Mr. Lyall mentioned the “Learn Swim” week in February. He was ' sirous of finding 3 place in the Walw** kaiho River above the bridge where-a. nitt'/; ural pool not. too deep existed or where • temporary on'e could be made. i The scoutmaster’s reports were submit? ted and approved. The laSst parade, fa the year will be held on December 2C parades resuming on February'7. It ww announced that .the Wellington rally, ii connection with the Chief Scout’s vial would be held on February 28. Fourtea scouts had expressed their intention to- *1 tend the rally. ' 1 ■.
