The pupils had been very successful in the art competition of the New Ze** land Children’s Newspaper. In ' this/ competition the second pnze was won. Eric Terrill. In the caricature competition the' prize was won, by Eric Terrill and the! ond pnze by Doris Francis. - ; On behqjf<pf the. committee the chain' man' asked the headmaster to. convey/to/ Mr. Davey (teacher of Form II.) and/tS®; children concerned, the committee’s gratulations,. It was resolved that a grant of £5 ;b* made to Miss Andrews (infant mistrej*!/ for the' purchase. of gifts for the primer classes. A letter of thanks will.be sent t#. Mrs. Sqwerbutts. for her donation to , tj»t school funds. \ Mr. Lyall mentioned the “Learn Swim” week in February.
