Italy’s "Air Armada” of ~12 seaplanes todk off to-day on the first stage of a flight that is to include the crossing of ttye Atlantic to Brazil. The squadron - encountered a violent storm at the Balearic Isles. Eight have arrived at Cartagena and the other four, including General Balbp’s, have anchored in the Bay of Ppllensa., . General, Balbo, Air Minister, occupied . the leading,machine with Chief of Staff Vallo and the famous Italian ace, Captai, • Maddalena. The actual route is Cartagena, thence to Spanish Morocco Bild to Bolama (Portuguese Guinea), from' where the machines will start across the Atlantic on January 5.
