The doubling of Russia’s rabbit-bree4* ing industry is the best means of coping with the meat and clothing crisis, accord*, ing to a conference of'specialists convoked at Moscow. Following upon the success of experiments with four truckloads, of pedigree} rabbits from Germany, it was decided, says the Riga correspondent of tha Times, to establish-a State farm of acres near the Black- Sea, which would become the . centre of the industry. The experimental farms are expected soon to reach the paying stage, which will enable “the rabbit-front” to be industrialised by the end of 1931. : Thsi conference also, directed attention to th* necessity of-breeding pigs for food..
