Walter Alfred Woodward, single,..aged 34, : committed suicide with a shot-gun on his mother’s farm at Ruawai this morning. .Woodward’s brother, heard, a shot fired and found the body with a gun beside it close to the cowshed. f Evidence ait the inquest showed Woodward to have been suffering from de-; pression from time to time-since his return from' the Great’ War,, and his depressed condition during the past six months had been worse. The verdict was that lie committed suicide while of uh?), sound mind caused by depression following the effects of war service.
