Danish butter finds a ready sale in England on account of its freshness and greater flavour, and New , Zealand/exporters are anxious to find ways and means to place an article on the market-that.will be-able to compete . with.-the Danish .product from this view - Following upon the request of the Primo Minister the question 'i<ts been dealt with b’y the dairy research "m»B; committee of the Conue.l of Scientific and Industrial Reee-iye.l, and . the New Zealand .Dairy Produce. Cortrol Board has' aied. interested - jusejx .-in , the matter by providing , £lOO-toward® the cost of arranging a trial. Butter is to be made at the. Dairy Resear-j-i Institute at: Palmereton North and the , director of the institute. Professor. W. Riddet, and Mr. W. M- Singleton, director of the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture, are to co-operate m the work. It is hoped to produce an article which, while containing the desirable flavour, will be free from the undesirable taints which are often found when, butter haa. been- stored for any considerable time. f - ' / ' .
